Don’t flambé that menu. Use DimLit, not candles, to help you read.
NORFOLK, Massachusetts—November 15, 2011—Exemplics LLC today announced the availability of DimLit 1.3 on the App Store. Exemplics LLC continues to refine DimLit to bring users the best experience possible. This version allows users with autofocus cameras on their devices to focus only when they wish. Previously, these devices operated in continuous autofocus mode.
DimLit is designed to help you read menus in dimly lit restaurants. DimLit amplifies available light and increases magnification and contrast. It can also assist reading of small print in everyday situations.
DimLit uses digital image processing techniques to enhance the live high resolution video stream from the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad camera. These techniques have been tuned to provide optimal results and conserve battery life.
DimLit is simple to use. Just hold your device a few inches above the menu. Drag your finger across the screen to adjust the level of light amplification. Use a pinch gesture to magnify the image. Double tap the screen to enter a high contrast mode. This mode makes light printing (as sometimes happens with receipts) appear dark. It also helps clarify the image in extremely low light situations. Like normal mode, you can adjust the image in high contrast mode by dragging your finger. Double tap the screen again if you want to return to normal mode.
